| ugghh....it makes me ill watching Brett Myers or Bruntlitt or anyone not name Moyer trying to sacrifice bunt. And watching Ryan Howard try to hit makes me ill or anyone else not named Victorino or Dobbs for that matter. Was it that long ago when I just had to see Howard's *every* at bat. How can this be? Team is hitting like under .210 in August and we're only 2.5 games out...hopefully, this message will be scrolled off by mid-September when when everyone is hitting like they are capable of doing. The friggin' Mets, you gotta be kidding me. I guess we'll have to wait for Wagner to come back and screw up their psyche. |

Yeah, didn't this team predict they would score 1,000 runs? Little leaguers in Williamsport are more fun to watch. At least they seem to put the ball in play. Don't rag too much on all the pitchers. What about Hamels? He swings a pretty good bat. Wasn't it against the Padres last week where he got the first hit for the Phillies? Talk about sad, when the pitcher gets the first hit of the game.
We all know that unless this team gets out of this offensive funk, these guys probably won't be in the playoffs. Lord knows their pitching is one injury away from collapsing (I.e. Lidge). Howard needs to make some serious adjustments in his approach to the plate. He's letting the pitcher dictate how the at-bats go, which simply means that the pitchers have adjusted faster than he has. The great hitters adjust, I just hope that 10 million didn't go to his head and I sure hope he doesn't get a dime more next year in arbitration because I don't see him worth 10 million.
As for Myers, I'll give him a pass since he pitched a great complete game the other night. At least he got that going for him. Glad to see the minor league experience worked for him. Can't say the same for Adam, he got shelled for 6 runs the other day. Yikes.
Oh yeah, by the way, Welcome back Constenshockley.... |

| Wow, let's hope we're cranking it up again. Looks like Chase is starting to get in a groove. It's hard to believe that swing of his could get in a prolonged slump....but it was a long fall from .320 to .280. And Shane seems like a spark in the 5 or 6 hole. And, what about the new lineup...Chase 2, Burrel 3, Howard 4, Shane 5, Werth 6? I always thought it was a good thing to separate the lefties Howard and Chase to force the other manager to make more difficult decisions late in the game. |

| Like I know who any of those guys are.... yikes, that's going back in time! Anyways, I was happily surprised this morning to see the Phillies had pulled it out against the Dodgers last night. Phillies back on track? What does everyone think? |
