Well, the Phillies are back!  For the first time in my life, I get to see my beloved Phillies in the World Series for a 2nd year in a row.  A miracle?  Perhaps but rather some sound investment in the players and the farm system.  There were days in the past where I wondered if the Phillies would ever become at least consistent in something other than losing.  It appears that is coming to fruition.

With the creation of the money generating stadium Citizens Bank Park, the Phillies now have the ability to smartly sign quality talent.  As shown, they have locked up a core group of players for a few more years and now have, in my opinion, the eyes of many a free agent.  Who wouldn't want to come to the World Series Champions?  Crybabies perhaps but true winners, they'll be here.

With Cliff Lee arguably the best acquisition since Pete Rose, the Phillies are again poised to make a solid push for another ring.  I think with Ryan Howard leading the offense and the solid defense played by the Phillies, this World Series will go 7 games with the Phillies becoming the next back-to-back champions in the NL since the Big Red Machine.  Go Phillies!

On another note, Andy Reid, please play Kevin Kolb!  Sorry, but I think Donovan is done.  With Kolb playing two games with over 300 yards passing and Donovan losing to the horrid Raiders, it is time to move on to the future.  Please play Kolb!  The season isn't lost yet but with the Giants sitting at 5-1, we can't fall back any further.
