Whoa, is it me or did the Eagles really improve over the past few weeks?  That Jackson kid sure made an impression on me.  I think the Eagles may have a serious threat in this young man.  I might actually have to revise my prediction for the Eagles this year.  DeSean proved to be an above average WR and certainly had some flash on returns.  I think both Brian Westbrook and Donovan McNabb will have monster seasons as both seem to be playing with something to prove.  Brian as a player who can handle the punishment and deserves a better contract with Donovan taking the road of “I’m still a good quarterback and if I don’t play here, I want to showcase my talents”.  Call me a little more than interested in the Eagles this year.

Hey Tim McCarver, did you go to the same school of broadcasting as Jon Miller?  How much air-time must you give the long media over-blown Jimmy Rollins saga?  C’mon, Jimmy said what he said, took his medicine from the fans, so move on!  I’m tired of hearing it; if Jimmy can’t take it from the fans, he shouldn’t have called us out as “front runners” but guys like you just keep this in the fore-front, let it die you numb nut.

As for the Phillies, hey, did I see some hitting break out?  I hadn't seen consecutive games of decent hitting for well over a month.  I guess I can cut back on my little league viewing now that the anemic bats of the Phillies seem to have awakened.  The last few games, it was good to see Charile change up the middle of the lineup splitting the lefties, Howard and Utley.  So far that move has paid off in Howard, Utley and Burrell hitting.  This approach certainly makes opposing managers think twice about bringing in that situational lefty.  Are the Phillies onto something?  I sure hope Charlie sticks with it as I can't stand the smugness of those damn Mets fans.  If only Howard could get back to the season he had a few years back, I might start thinking about the post-season.

Re: The Weekly Sore Point

Hey Pauly, I agree on Tim McCarver and the rest of the "national" announcers.

Not being an Eagles fan as hardcore as some, I'm certainly interested in this year's team as well. Course, I have Westbrook in my fantasy league team so that might have something to do with it.
