Myers proves his manhood again

Brett Myers had to be restrained from attacking an Inquirer beat reporter on Saturday night after Myers gave up two Home Runs and dismissed them as pop-ups. The reporter rightfully questioned his answer, which reeked of a bad excuse, and Myers lost his temper, calling him a retard. The reporter asked him to spell retard, and caveman Myers went ballistic. Myers, like all bullies, tried to embarrass an honest reporter, and then when he was out-witted, threatened to beat up said reporter.

This incident comes on the heels of last year’s domestic violence arrest, where Myers reportedly dragged his wife across the street by her hair. Myers is a rare scumbag on an otherwise likeable team. Someone needs to tell Myers he’s not in a schoolyard anymore.

There is no truth to the rumor; however, that Myers accosted the Ad Exec who came up with the Geico "It’s so easy a caveman can do it" ads.

Garcia needs to shut up and move on

Former Eagles and current Tampa Bay QB Jeff Garcia took another chance to rip the Eagles for not re-signing him last week. Since he signed with Tampa Bay, Garcia has blamed the Eagles for his departure every time someone has put a microphone in his face. The fact is he wasn’t ever going to give up a chance to start and make starter money to come back to Philly to be a backup. The fact that he is selling that line is an insult to smart fans everywhere, and serves no purpose but to stir up controversy at his old job. This is a really class-less move for Garcia, who was given a chance to resurrect his dormant career here last year. It also allowed the 38-year old QB to score one last, big contract. Garcia knows the grass is greener in Philadelphia, but the money wasn’t, so he left. I don’t blame him, but he needs to stop acting like a jilted lover.

Garcia is often quoted as saying he is very grateful to the Eagles for last year. He has a funny way of showing it.

There are better causes than Vick.

Pro athletes from Deion Sanders to Stephon Marbury to Roy Jones, Jr. all came out in defense of Michael Vick in the past week, trying in vain to justify or to qualify the despicable activities that Vick will almost certainly go to jail for. I realize that it is very rare to hear one black athlete rip another to the media. That’s fine. I get it. But these guys would be better off in not commenting on the issue at all, because they sound like idiots trying to defend the indefensible.

Bitter and jaded Warren. I like him.
